- Q1. What is DPI?
-
Dots per inch (DPI) is a measure of spatial printing or video dot density, in particular the number of individual dots that can be placed in a line within the span of 1 inch (2.54 cm). For example, when DPI is set to be 400, the cursor will move by 400 dots for every inch the mouse is moved.
- Q2. What is polling rate?
- Polling rate (or report rate) determines how often your mouse sends information to your computer. Measured in Hz, this setting equates to lag time (in ms). If the polling rate is set at 1000Hz, the mouse cursor will be updated every 1 millisecond.
- Q3. What factors are most important to take into consideration when buying a new gaming mouse?
- There are two major factors to consider when choosing a gaming mouse: the way the mouse feels in your hand and its performance. As long as you feel comfortable when clicking, moving, and gripping the mouse, then it will be an appropriate choice. As to performance, you should take several key parameters into account, such as the number of function keys, DPI, FPS, transfer rate, and customizability. Generally speaking, the higher the value of DPI, FPS, and transfer rate, the faster the operating speed and accuracy of the mouse will be.
